Core Duties:

  • Strategic Proposal Visualization & Scientific Design
    • Conceptual Modeling: Translate complex technical prose and abstract scientific theories into intuitive visual assets, including conceptual frameworks, theoretical models, and integrated page layouts.
    • Methodological Mapping: Design sophisticated process diagrams that articulate the research lifecycle, specifically illustrating data collection flows, experimental phases, and analytical milestones.

  • Grant Branding & Compliance Stewardship
    • Visual Identity Development: Conceptualize and execute distinct project "brands" (logos, color systems, and templates) for large-scale or multi-institutional grants to enhance professional credibility and memorability.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all proposal materials strictly adhere to institutional brand standards and meet the rigorous formatting and accessibility guidelines (e.g., Section 508) required by federal funding agencies such as the DOE, DOD, and NASA.
  • Collaborative Strategy & Logic Modeling
    • Investigator Consultation: Partner directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) to brainstorm and sketch abstract concepts, leveraging the design process to identify and resolve logical gaps in the research narrative.
    • Iterative Production Management: Lead rapid-response revision cycles within high-pressure grant submission windows, ensuring visual assets evolve in lockstep with the shifting scientific narrative.
  • Outreach, Publications & Digital Presence
    • High-Stakes Presentation Support: Architect professional slide decks and conference posters that ensure research findings are communicated persuasively to stakeholders and review panels.
    • Publication Management: Oversee the layout and production of formal annual reports, project white papers, and academic publications.
    • Digital Multimedia: Provide design support for project websites and produce tailored digital assets for social media and signage to maximize the public visibility and impact of the research.
