Responsibilities
Serves as an integral member of FSU’s Student Academic Success (SAS) media and marketing team with an emphasis on publications within Admissions. Designs and prepares a variety of print and multimedia content to enhance the visual image of SAS and its multiple units, including the Division of Enrollment Management, the Division of Undergraduate Studies, The Graduate School, the Student Veterans Center, and more.
Designs and prepares high-quality original layouts and designs for a variety of media platforms including brochures, posters, postcards, e-cards, social media, and website application designs for Enrollment Management. Works to maintain a unified and consistent look across various marketing and communication platforms to ensure comprehensive brand management. Works collaboratively across the Division of Enrollment Management to ensure that high-quality marketing materials are produced in a timely fashion. Reviews proofs and edits, as necessary.
Conducts research of current marketing and communication campaigns used by comparable institutions and other units across FSU. Assesses, monitors, and applies emerging trends and technologies. Works closely with senior leadership and partners across the institution to craft, execute, and refine high-quality marketing and communication materials. Adheres to standards set by the University and the Office of University Communications.
Performs administrative functions to support graphic and multimedia design work. Maintains project files and project tracking in an efficient and timely manner. Builds relationships and collaborates with units across the institution to identify and coordinate content in ways that enhance efficiency and support common priorities.
Provides guidance to student employees as needed by mentoring them on design principles and technical challenges. Maintains current design and technical skills through hands-on training, professional development opportunities, and review of industry literature. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of SAS.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience working with University policies and procedures related to Enrollment Management functions is preferred.
- Candidates should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
- Experience with digital photography and video editing preferred but not required.
- Knowledgeable of Adobe Premiere for video editing with some experience with CSS and HTML would be beneficial.
- Experience in printed publications is preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe programs, specifically: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is around $47,660.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
