The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position of
Head of the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science
full-time for a fixed term of 3 years

The Faculty of Law at Masaryk University is one of four public law faculties in the Czech Republic. The current Faculty of Law at Masaryk University can be characterised as a modern, dynamic faculty, where the focus is on teaching and scientific research. The Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science is a department of the MU Faculty of Law that carries out educational and scientific research activities in the field of constitutional law, human rights, political science and governance, in particular in organic constitutional law and the protection of fundamental rights, all in a comparative context and with regard to European law and international human rights standards. We emphasise the value basis of Czech constitutionality and the search for the meaning and purpose of legal norms.
Main activities:
- responsibility for the educational and scientific activities of the department and the achievement of the required outputs and results,
- personnel management of the department (motivation, evaluation, and career growth of employees),
- responsibility for the management of entrusted funds,
- close cooperation with the faculty management,
- own teaching (including the preparation of study and teaching materials), scientific research and publishing activities.
Qualifications and other requirements (mandatory):
- Master's degree in law,
- academic or scientific title of professor or associate professor,
- at least 10 years of experience in the field,
- active teaching and scientific activity and readiness to guarantee the professional subjects taught at the department,
- personal and professional prerequisites for leading the department,
- ability to teach and publish in Czech and English, other language skills are an advantage,
- fulfilment of the requirements under Act No. 451/1991 Coll. as amended, not required for persons born after 1 December 1971,
- moral integrity,
- information on other employment relationships of the employee within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended.
