About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the Health and Safety Project & Systems Lead is responsible for the successful end to end delivery of priority Health, Safety and Wellbeing projects and system initiatives aligned to the University’s HSW Program of Work.
The role leads the planning, delivery and embedding of complex initiatives, translating strategic priorities, audit findings and regulatory obligations into practical solutions, operational tools and sustainable system enhancements. Exercising a high level of autonomy and professional judgement, the position manages project scope, timelines, risks, interdependencies and stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes, drive organisational adoption and build lasting capability across the University.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Lead the end to end delivery of assigned HSW projects and system initiatives, from initiation through to implementation, handover and benefits realisation.
- Translate HSW strategy, audit findings, regulatory requirements and executive priorities into approved project plans and delivered outcomes, with clearly scoped, costed and sequenced deliverables.
- Develop and implement practical systems, tools, frameworks and processes that strengthen HSW capability, assurance and risk management maturity.
- Independently manage complex HSW projects using appropriate project management methodologies, tools and reporting mechanisms.
- Own delivery of project outputs, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, system enabled (e.g. WHSMS, digital platforms) and aligned to organisational governance frameworks.
- Operates as a trusted senior specialist, exercising independent judgement and shaping project level decisions that influence University wide HSW capability, assurance and compliance outcomes.

Qualifications
- A postgraduate level qualification in a relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
