& Society - 2026-27 Professional Track Faculty Pool College/School/Unit: College of Liberal Arts Department: Department of Sociology Posted: Aug 16, 2026 Apply By: Aug 15, 2027 Description The Health and Society program at The University of Texas at Austin seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non-tenure track positions to teach undergraduate courses. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent upon student enrollment and the availability of
funding. Appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis, though sometimes a year-long or years-long appointment can be made. Positions are renewable annually or multi-annually, contingent upon funding, position and performance. Salary is dependent upon position and qualifications. Qualifications A Ph.D. in a social science or humanities discipline that focused on a health-related topic is preferred. Previous college-level teaching experience is required.
