University of Hawai‘i, Kapi‘olani Community College, Office of Health Academic Program, is seeking applications for the Health Education Non-Credit Instructor (Casual Hire).

Continuation is dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, teach courses assigned.
• Develop curriculum and teach continuing education health classes. Subjects include but are not limited to: Medical Coding, Medical Billing, Adult Residential Care Home, Emergency Medical Services, Phlebotomy, Massage Therapy (basic & specialized), Optometry Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant, Community Dental Health Coordinator/Instructor, Pharmacy Technician, Certified Nurse Aide, Surgical Technology, and School Health Aide.
• Evening classes, weekend classes, and distance education classes may be assigned as part of the assignment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and to teach for a variety of audiences, including adult learners.
• Teaching assignment is as needed and dependent upon course enrollment
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate and/or license, associate or bachelor's degree in the appropriate subject area, when applicable; or equivalent combination of education/training and job-related experience
• Knowledge, skills, ability, and expertise are required in the field.
• Must be able to provide a course proposal, description, and syllabus detailing the student outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications

• Teaching experience at the community college or university level
• Demonstrated ability to work with adult and non-traditional learners
• Experience teaching in an online setting
