We're currently searching for a Health Promotion Coordinator to join our Hokie Wellness team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you're passionate about student well-being, please keep reading.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
- You'll be joining the Hokie Wellness team; a department centered on providing holistic well-being resources to the Virginia Tech community by focusing on a variety of health and well-being topics.
- You'll be reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Education, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
- You'll be responsible for advancing student health and well-being through the implementation, facilitation, and supervision of evidence-informed, theory-driven initiatives focused on connection and belonging
- You'll oversee the daily operations of The Connection Project (TCP) as well as other programs and initiatives that enhance student connection and well-being.
- You'll provide direct supervision to student facilitators and staff who support these initiatives.
- You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
- You'll be offered a base compensation package between $48,000 - $51,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human development, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
- Experience with group facilitation/management skills and facilitating small groups of college students on mental health/connection topics.
- Experience supervising and mentoring student staff with strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with colleagues both departmentally and across campus to enhance programs supporting student connection and well-being.
- Experience facilitating and promoting programs that foster belonging, connection, and well-being.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in human development, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
- Prior experience collecting and working with both quantitative and qualitative data/research methods.
- Professional writing skills.

Exempt: Not eligible for overtime

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some evenings/weekends as needed
