Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Advising, the Health Science Academic Advisor supports students in the health sciences—primarily nursing majors and those transitioning between majors—through holistic, personalized academic advising. This role is central to helping students navigate degree requirements, understand academic policies, and maintain steady progress toward graduation. Serving as a consistent and trusted point of contact, the academic advisor fosters student success through proactive outreach, individualized guidance, and close collaboration with faculty and staff. Key Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in higher education, counseling, advising, or a related field preferred, experience in academic advising or student support services in higher education, strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, and familiarity with advising software, student information systems, and FERPA regulations a plus.
