Job Description
The University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology, seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position with academic Program Director experience to join a growing academic division designed with a subspecialty focus. Candidates must be committed to practicing evidenced-based medicine and be enthusiastic teachers of our hematology/oncology fellows. Candidates with experience/interest in non-malignant Hematology or solid tumor specialization are particularly desirable.
The Program Director provides strategic leadership for the academic mission of the Cancer Center, overseeing education, training, and faculty development across basic, translational, clinical, and population sciences. This role ensures excellence and integration in cancer-focused education and academic programming while aligning with institutional priorities, accreditation standards, and national benchmarks in oncology education and research training.
Key responsibilities include academic leadership and strategy, education and training programs, faculty development and mentorship, program oversight and evaluation, and collaboration and representation.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a MD/DO and be BE/BC in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications
Established record of academic achievement in oncology, cancer research, or cancer education. Demonstrated leadership experience in academic programs, education, or training. Experience mentoring trainees and faculty across career stages. Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills. Experience within an NCI-designated Cancer Center or comparable academic cancer program. Knowledge of CCSG requirements related to education and training. National or international recognition in oncology, education, or academic leadership.
