Postdoctoral Associate

The Sound and Vibrations Lab, directed by Prof. Mostafa Nouh at the University at Buffalo - SUNY, is seeking one or more Postdoctoral Associate researchers in the areas of phononics, acoustic and elastic metamaterials, mechanical intelligence, and thermoacoustic energy management.

The successful Postdoctoral Associate candidate will:

• Perform research surrounding theoretical, computational and experimental aspects of the project.
• Provide timely data dissemination.
• Play a key role in shaping the future direction of the project.

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in acoustics, elastic wave theory (e.g., dispersion, beaming, structural dynamics, etc.) and numerical finite element simulations. Relevant experimental expertise is highly desirable but not strictly required.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline.
