Overview
The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology (CJ&S) at Auburn University at Montgomery ( AUM ) is inviting applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for the Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management ( HSEM ) online program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate-level online courses in homeland security. This position is not remote and faculty are expected to have a campus presence. The visiting appointment is a one-year renewable non-tenure-track position, and may be transitioned to a tenure-track position based on performance, departmental needs, and available funding. AUM has an official 4/3 teaching load. Faculty with ongoing scholarship and publication usually receive a course release for a normal 3/3 load. Internal funding to support scholarship is available. Service to the department is expected. A doctoral degree in criminal justice, homeland security, emergency management, sociology, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with prior experience teaching graduate courses are preferred.
