Horticulture Temporary Associate

Position Summary

Individual will assist with the field, seed processing, laboratory and greenhouse activities. Crucial field activities include data collection and harvesting along with other miscellaneous duties. Additional duties will involve helping with seed processing shelling, data collection, organizing) and greenhouse work (plant cultivation and crossing) when needed. Laboratory activities include conducting polymerase chain reaction for marker-assisted selection. Individual will work as a part of a team.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Some post-secondary education in biology or plant science is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Knowledge of crops, strong work ethic, attention to detail, good at record-keeping

Physical Demands

Walking, bending, stooping, and lifting lightweight materials. Work outdoors in varying conditions.
