Hospital Lab Technician IV-Corelab - IRV-FT-Variable
Position Summary: The incumbent is responsible for all maintenance activities related to laboratory analyzers and equipment located in both main laboratory and multiple satellite lab locations. This includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and ensuring that all instruments function in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards. The incumbent will collaborate directly with equipment vendors during service visits and complex troubleshooting and will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation for all maintenance, repair, and service activities. In addition to technical responsibilities, the incumbent will train lab staff on equipment troubleshooting and maintenance procedures to build operational competency. This position works closely alongside Clinical Laboratory Scientists to support accurate and timely diagnostic testing. Travel to various lab locations is required to provide on-site maintenance and technical support across the network.
Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements applicable to clinical laboratory equipment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple laboratory locations as required.
- Strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, service documentation, and schematics.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate skills appropriate to the job.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a regulated clinical laboratory environment preferred (e.g. CLIA, CAP, or Joint Commission).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
- Familiarity with LIS/Middleware systems is a plus.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, Electronics, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related technical field.
