THE ROLE

The post holder will be required to devise a range of teaching and assessment materials, covering several modules and subject areas and may lead on modules and programmes, primarily, but not exclusively those which provide English Language and Academic Skills Development and Support.

Main duties will include:

  • Deliver teaching, learning and assessments, as well as provide support to students
  • Deliver teaching and learning strategies in a variety of contexts using appropriate and engaging teaching and learning styles
  • Be involved in the design and development of high-quality teaching and learning material
  • Supervise the work of students in a timely, professional and supportive manner, providing necessary advice on study skills, research methods, assessment and dissertation work.
  • Offer appropriate feedback, support, and encouragement to students to ensure a high-quality student experience.

REQUIREMENTS

You should have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in teaching English language with relevant delivery, assessment and student support
  • Demonstrable organizational and personal management skills
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of a commitment to team working and teaching
  • IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources
  • Evidence of ability to balance competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, research, administrative demands and deadlines

FURTHER INFORMATION

This role has flexible hours across the weekday and weekend. Hours are allocated prior to each term (September, January, May) based on the HPL's availability and the Campus's timetabling needs.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship in line with Home Office salary threshold requirements.
