Verify patient identity, examination orders, and relevant
clinical information prior to imaging.
Explain procedures to patients and provide appropriate
instructions to ensure their understanding and comfort.
Properly position patients and operate radiographic equipment
to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Apply appropriate radiation safety principles and techniques to
minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Evaluate images for technical quality and obtain additional
images when appropriate and within established protocols.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation related to
radiologic procedures and patient care.
Enter and document imaging information accurately within the
electronic health record and/or imaging system.
Maintain equipment and report equipment malfunctions, safety
concerns, or maintenance needs promptly.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including
appropriate cleaning and disinfection of equipment and work
areas.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and
organizational requirements governing radiologic services.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement
activities related to diagnostic imaging.
Maintain required licensure, certification, continuing
education, and other professional requirements.
Work collaboratively with clinical staff to facilitate
efficient patient flow and timely completion of ordered imaging
services.
Provide care that is respectful of patients' cultural, social,
financial, and individual needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Two or more years of experience as a Radiologic
Technologist.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic, primary
care, urgent care, or FQHC environment.
- Experience with digital radiography and PACS/RIS systems.
- Experience working with a diverse and underserved patient
population.
- Experience with electronic health records, preferably
Athenahealth or similar systems.
