About This Opportunity
As HR Business Partner you will manage and deliver strategic HR services to a dedicated client portfolio. You'll be the primary contact for senior managers, handling daily HR operations and implementing initiatives aligned with both business unit and University strategies. Your role includes assessing client needs, providing tailored solutions, and allocating HR resources to ensure high-quality service.
Leading a small team of HR Advisors, you'll offer support on complex issues, drive performance improvement, and build team capability. This role is locally known as Manager, HR Client Partnering.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a trusted adviser, offering comprehensive guidance on HR policies and their application within the client portfolio.
- Oversee the implementation of strategic HR initiatives aligned with client portfolio plans, business unit objectives, and UQ HR strategy.
- Partner with key stakeholders to resolve complex issues in workforce planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational development.
- Collaborate with HR departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Provide expert guidance on policy, procedural issues, case management, staff grievances, performance management, and employee relations.
- Lead and mentor a team of HR Advisors on complex operational matters.
This is a full-time, permanent position at HEW Level 8, with flexible working options available, including hybrid working across our St Lucia campus and WFH.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 - $122,176 plus super 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $127,500 - $142,946 per annum.

About You
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress in HR, Business, or related field, with extensive HR and management experience.
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive client relationships, serving as a trusted adviser for operational and strategic HR needs.
- Excellent skills in HR operations, planning, and analysis, with experience in policy interpretation, compliance, risk frameworks, and enterprise agreements.
- Strong capability to analyse complex HR issues and provide strategic, operational solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising, training, mentoring, and managing staff handling complex and sensitive HR issues.
- Experience in professional advisory or service delivery roles in complex stakeholder and policy environments.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
