Position Summary
Purpose: As integral members of the HR Services Team, HR Generalists provide comprehensive support to their designated employee groups, overseeing compensation, benefits, and labor contract administration. By delivering expert guidance and exceptional service, they ensure a positive employee experience.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- Experience: Two years of professional experience in human resources or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard office software, such as Google Suites.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge: Employment laws, including but not limited to FMLA and COBRA.
- Skills: Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
- Accuracy: Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Generalist.
- Experience in a unionized environment, or a public-sector environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of personal computers for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout campus and the community.
- Constant communications with others.
- Ability to occasionally move boxes, files, or materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Work Schedule
This is an exempt, full-time position; Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the College, including occasional evenings and/or weekend hours.
