Human Ethics Team Leader

  • Salary Range: $114,151 - $128,065 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

Work that matters

Lead a high-performing Human Ethics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement. You will provide specialist advice to researchers and committees, oversee ethics approval processes, and ensure the effective interpretation and application of relevant legislation, guidelines and University policies.

You will support compliance with legislative and policy requirements, manage risk and liaise with external accrediting agencies on human research ethics. You will also contribute to the development of policies, procedures and training resources as well as prepare reports and documentation for committees and provide high-level support to ethics committees, including coordinating meetings and managing follow-up actions.

The human ethics team are an experienced and knowledgeable group within the broader Research Compliance, Ethics and Integrity function, within the Research and Innovation Portfolio. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team who work well together.

Experience

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

  • Leading and building effective and collaborative teams while managing multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Providing specialist advice on human research ethics, codes, legislation, and standards
  • Developing, implementing, and improving policies, procedures, and systems for administrative efficiency and service quality
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information, exercising appropriate judgement and discretion
  • Using standard office software, internet, and database packages, with adaptability to changing IT environments
  • Postgraduate qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
