Human Resource Associate*

Employees perform more complex duties, requiring independent judgment and coordination, in one or more of the major areas of a comprehensive human resource/payroll operation. They work under direction of other human resource professionals or designated administrators.
Examples of Duties
- Responsible for the tracking of applicant data for all open positions from listing the openings through the hiring process.
- Provides technical/procedural assistance to hiring units in the recruiting, selection, and hiring processes.
- Assist in processing requests to advertise, interview, hire, and cancel positions.
- Communicate with a variety of campus staff to correct deficiencies or seek clarity on Faculty/AP/Civil Service employment requests.
- Maintain compliance of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity programs and initiatives.
- Maintain compliance in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, legislation, regulations, and court rulings, as well as guidance from relevant state and federal agencies.
- Maintain confidential files and records and monitor file security. Maintain records and track security-sensitive positions.
- Review applications and determine eligibility of applicants for admittance to write examinations for all University civil service classifications. Match qualifications of work experience, education, and abilities with areas of interest and in relation to the needs of the University.
- Interpret civil service rules, University regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Advise administrators, supervisors and employees on procedures and rules relating to employment policies and programs.
- Liaison between Human Resources and University department representatives and/or outside agencies concerning functions of the comprehensive human resource program.
- Interpret, explain, advise or make appropriate referrals to other units/staff in Human Resources. Orient department representatives concerning the functions of all Human Resources units.
- Attend job fairs for recruitment
- Assist in presenting workshops related to best practices, compliance, ATS system, etc
- Develop training manuals for various office functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
- Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
- Work experience in recruitment, hiring, or compensation within a Human Resource department.
