Overview

Mount Marty is pleased to accept applications for the Human Resource Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist role performs a variety of administrative Human Resource functions to support the university's mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Human Resource Administration:
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding efforts to ensure a smooth and welcoming hiring experience.
  • Implement employee retention strategies aimed at fostering a positive work environment and enhancing staff engagement.
  • Support employee offboarding processes to ensure a respectful, organized, and compliant separation experience. Responsibilities include facilitating exit interviews, managing system and access terminations.
  • Draft and update job descriptions, offer letters, and employment-related documentation in collaboration with department leads. Ensure job descriptions reflect evolving organizational needs, responsibilities, and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files and digital HR systems, in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
  • Initiate and manage the university’s annual performance review process by establishing timelines, distributing guidelines and evaluation tools, and ensuring all supervisors and employees understand expectations and deadlines.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Provide additional support as directed by the VP for Finance and Administration.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least two years of human resource management experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and practices.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., Paychecks/Paycor, ADP,etc.).
