Job Duties:
- Responsible for the support and administration of Employee & Labor Relations and Compliance services or programs within the scope of all Human Resources.
- Provides support in resolving employee concerns, including conducting investigations and documenting findings.
- Opportunities to work on a variety of employee relations matters, including ADA requests, and grow your expertise.
- Coordinates various special projects to include procedure interpretation, process flow, and re-engineering efforts.
- Monitors and audits accuracy of federal, state, and College compliance requirements within the scope of Human Resources.
- Assists in the development and improvement of Human Resources programs, policies and procedure, and related activities.
- Interprets, explains, and presents human resources issues, training, policies, and procedures to employees and management to include making recommendations to management on solving business problems.
- Enters or modifies data and develops reports from HR Information System.
- Assists in labor contract interpretation, processing grievances, and other union-related duties as needed.
- Performs other related duties as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires at least a bachelor's degree and at least three years of prior-related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer applicants with (1) at least three years of full-time experience working with human resources compliance and/or employee relations, or coaching and organizational development (2) knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws, (3) strong analytical ability and excellent/verbal/written skills, (4) working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access to include creating formulas and producing reports, (5) excellent time management skills, (6) experience in a customer service related environment ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service and developing positive rapport with internal and external contacts, (7) strong oral communication skills with the ability to use tact, diplomacy and flexibility, (8) high level of discretion and tact dealing with sensitive personnel issues and confidential information, (9) strong organizational and project management skills, (10) ability to work with diverse groups and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, (11) ability to maintain confidentiality, (12) ability to remain open to others' ideas and exhibit a willingness to try new things, (13) ability to identify situations that may need further research and /or escalation to management, and (14) ability to work in a team environment
