An opportunity to provide key Systems and Project services to support research at The University of Adelaide

The Senior Research Information and Systems Officer is responsible for providing business support for the university's research information management systems. This includes tasks such as data extraction and analysis, user support and training, system maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting, process improvement, and documentation, as well as stakeholder consultation. The role entails overseeing and maintaining the university's research information systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data. The successful candidate will be tasked with analysing research data, implementing system enhancements, offering high-level user support, and training staff on effectively using these systems.

This role is crucial for providing operational system support and driving projects and process improvement initiatives that support research activities throughout the University. It involves significant collaboration with Research Services and other key stakeholders across Faculties and Divisions. You will also deliver advanced data management and analysis services to a diverse range of clients.

To be successful you will need:

  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage project and operational work.
  • Ability to interpret government policy, specifications and guidelines associated with research funding and government reporting requirements.
  • Sound experience with databases and data analysis, including high level Microsoft Excel skills, to summarise complex information for quality control and reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting management information systems and data collections, including system administration, implementation and upgrade, and user support and quality control, ideally in a research management setting.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a team environment, with high level communication skills and a proven ability to liaise, build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within an organisation.
