Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist will provide human resources support for the TTC Boeing Project, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance activities. This position will report to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources and will serve as a liaison between the department and the HR office to ensure consistent application of policies, timely resolution of HR issues, and effective communication across all levels of the organization. This position will collaborate with program managers, employees and Trident Technical College Human Resources team to promote a positive work environment and ensure alignment with institutional goals and HR best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage human resource functions with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, classification and compensation and performance management.
- Interpret and apply federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies governing human resources practices.
- Demonstrate independent decision-making while collaborating with the TTC HR team to ensure consistency, fairness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Conduct and facilitate program New Employee Orientation and assist with onboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and external partners.
- Analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and make recommendations and/or decisions within delegated authority.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
- Support HR projects, audits, and process improvements to enhance operational integrity and organizational effectiveness.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field; or an associate degree in Human Resources or a related field with relevant work experience. A high school diploma with significant relevant human resources experience may be considered in lieu of the required education.

- Knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal/state HR-related laws, regulations, and organizational policies with demonstrated compliance awareness and commitment to operational integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and external partners.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in analyzing situations and making recommendations and/or decisions within delegated authority.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally and with discretion.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Relevant experience coordinating and managing HR functions in a government or manufacturing/production setting, with flexibility to support first and second shift operations as required.
- SHRM Certification
- 3- 5 years HR generalist experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
