Job Summary:
The IACH is hiring a Research Assistant to support IACH research and evaluation projects with our community and clinical health partners. The position will assist with research activities such as scheduling meetings and taking meeting minutes, IRB submission and amendments, literature reviews, data collection, data cleaning, descriptive data analysis, and reporting.
Job Description:
- Schedules study meetings with external partners and assists the project lead with the development of meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
- Supports the development and amendment of IRB applications.
- Supports the development of study instruments including surveys, focus group guides, and interview guides.
- Assists with the literature reviews and scoping reviews.
- Collects qualitative and quantitative data following study protocols.
- Enters and manages study data in RED Cap, Qualtrics, and other data management platforms.
- Cleans data and conducts descriptive statistics under the supervision of project leads for reports, presentations, and academic products such as conference abstracts and manuscripts.
- Supports the development of peer reviewed manuscripts.
- Coordinates with research and evaluation project leads as needed to ensure study timelines and deliverables are met.
- Assists with logistics and operations such as administering study incentives or processing qualitative transcripts.
- Participates as a member of the Community Action team and attends relevant IACH meetings.
- Maintains research professionalism and exercises good judgement when handling sensitive data.
- Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically present in the description.
Relationships:
Continuous contact with members of own work unit to plan, coordinate, problem solve, exchange information, and make suggestions related to mutual and institutional goals.
Frequent interaction with IACH partners to exchange information, engage in creative problem solving and conduct collaborative evaluations.
Responsibility for Final Decisions:
Responsible for own work.
Reviews work to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Education/Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or other health related field required.
At least one year of previous experience in applied health research or program evaluation required
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance deliverables across multiple project
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
