Department Summary

The IDM Administrator 1 supports the administration and operations of the university's identity management infrastructure, including user provisioning, access lifecycle management, directory services, and authentication integrations. Works under general supervision to execute defined identity workflows, troubleshoot access and provisioning issues, and maintain accurate identity data across connected systems. Contributes to a foundational security and access function that serves the entire university community.
Position Profile
Responsible for daily administration and management, configuration, integration, maintenance, release management and upgrades of large-scale, complex, enterprise-wide applications, both cloud and on-premise. Utilizes business and technical knowledge and experience to identify and analyze needs in order to ensure solutions on an ongoing basis meet customer requirements. Isolates and resolves application utilization problems and errors that impact many areas and large numbers of users. Positions are centrally located and serve University-wide systems.
Level Summary
Performs professional-level work that involves basic, operational problem-solving. Independently resolves day-to-day issues and executes clearly defined tasks. Provides data analysis and informational insights to support decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and less than 3 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with identity and access management concepts including provisioning, deprovisioning, and role-based access control
- Familiarity with authentication protocols such as LDAP, SAML, or OAuth/OIDC and enterprise directory platforms such as Active Directory
- Exposure to identity governance concepts including access certification and lifecycle automation
- Experience troubleshooting access, authentication, or provisioning issues across multiple systems.
- Familiarity with API or connector-based integrations as they relate to identity data flows.
- Experience delivering results in a large or federated environment (higher ed, public sector)
- Demonstrated impact on satisfaction, reliability, adoption, or other metrics.
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively with partners, customers, and stakeholders with diverse perspectives and needs
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication, especially stakeholder communication and collaboration
- Familiarity with IT risk, accessibility, and security practices
- Comfort with IT methodologies and practices (agile, service management, etc.)
Pay Rate
This position is mapped to Pay Grade CA&P 17, with a target hiring range of $51,281 to $67,947. The salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity. Work Schedule
Full-time, M-F with core hours (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ET)
Rotating on-call and maintenance windows as scheduled.
Periodic on-campus presence as needed for planning or training.
Flexible Schedule: Alternative or compressed schedules may be approved based on business need.
