Inaugural Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences
The American College of the Mediterranean (ACM) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences. This newly created role reflects the College’s continued growth and its strategic commitment to liberal arts education rooted in a Mediterranean context.
The Dean will serve as the academic and administrative leader of the School, working closely with faculty, the Provost, and institutional leadership to advance innovative teaching, cross-disciplinary scholarship, and student-centered learning.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a School whose mission aligns closely with ACM’s institutional identity and academic vision. The new Dean will be charged with: Providing academic and strategic leadership to SHS faculty and programs, Supporting faculty development and interdisciplinary collaboration, Strengthening the Mediterranean Studies major and integrating it more deeply across the curriculum, Contributing to academic planning, student learning outcomes, and global partnerships, Supporting enrollment and student retention through high-quality, mission-aligned programming.
The Dean will report to the Provost and serve on the Deans’ Council. As a teacher-scholar institution, ACM expects all faculty—including deans—to remain engaged in teaching and academic life. This role includes the opportunity to mentor faculty scholarship and student research.
