Coordinate services with other on-campus academic support
providers as needed and in accordance to student need
Maintain an electronic summary of student progress
Communicate effectively with SAASS staff regarding student
status and progress
Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- At least one year of experience applying this effective
learning strategies in an educational setting; experience working
with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Experience gained during internships and/or graduate assistantships
may be counted (at half-time) towards these requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of effective learning strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- At least one year of experience working with students in higher
education
- Possession of a teaching certificate and/or at least one year
of experience providing one-on-one academic support
- Professional tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
- Certification and experience in special education is also a
plus
Additional Position Information (if applicable)
Intervention Learning Specialists provide 1 on 1 guidance to help
students strengthen various academic, time management, and
organizational skills.
