Overview
Industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is among the fastest growing professions in the United States (U.S. Department of Labor), in part because of the enormous value I-O psychologists can bring to organizations. UTulsa's I-O psychology master's and doctoral degree programmes train students to apply scientific psychological principles to help increase organizational effectiveness and work-life quality. Topics of study include personnel testing and selection, training, performance appraisal, organizational development, job attitudes, work motivation, teams, occupational health psychology, and an internship requirement. Research projects use both quantitative and qualitative, traditional and novel methodologies (e.g., text mining, network models, multilevel modeling) and big data approaches to bridge the science-practice gap.

- PTE Academic: PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90. Required score: 56
- IELTS: The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading). Required score: 6.5
Other requirements
- A completed Graduate School application: Including payment of the $60 application fee.
- Statement of Purpose: A 500- to 1,000-word explanation for why you are seeking a degree in I-O psychology and any relevant research experience
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can comment on your academic potential: At least two should be from professors who know you well.
- Official or unofficial transcripts from all universities attended
- GRE General Test scores
- Curriculum Vitae/Resume: Required if you want to be considered for any graduate assistantship funding. Your resume/vita can be uploaded online after you submit your application.
