Industrial Tech Center Lab Aide - Winnemucca
Job Description
Great Basin College is searching for a highly responsible individual to work in the Career and Technical Education department at the Great Basin College Industrial Tech Center in Winnemucca, NV.
The successful candidate will assist the Electrical, Instrumentation, Diesel, and Industrial Maintenance programs by preparing labs, fabricating training simulators, assisting students with lab projects, maintaining safe and orderly shop areas, and other duties as assigned.
This position is based at the Industrial Tech Center in Winnemucca.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Achievement in one of the disciplines taught or 5 years of experience in mining.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Must possess a Nevada Driver's License.
- Understanding of local industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for the programs and when deemed necessary provide support for the CTE Department as assigned.
- Work with limited supervision and perform assignments within framework of department/agency's policies and procedures and/or program requirements.
- Initiate purchase orders in support of the programs as assigned.
- Work with students, faculty, and staff in support of the programs assigned.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining all work areas to ensure a safe and organized instructional environment. Monitor and upkeep tools, tool and material storage areas, lab areas, and classroom.
- Update tool inventories and assist with ordering and replacing as necessary or assigned.
- Monitor students for proper use of shop tools, equipment, and safe work habits/procedures.
- Fabricate and repair various training aids to facilitate instruction.
- Assist students and instructors with lab exercises and assignments.
- Participation in college wide committees required.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and be proactive in accomplishing all tasks listed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation Grade
Administrative Faculty - B
This is a 12 month "A" contract position, 12 month contracts are used for year round programs.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $44,756 - $50,000
Salary is based on relatable education and experience, internal equity and budgets.
