"Research Senior Technician-Urology"

Research Senior technician to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of Dr. Debasish Sundi, a Principal Investigator in the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) and Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO).

Responsibilities Include:

• Conducts research to characterize the immunologic and genomic basis of human cancers using in vitro and murine models; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods to achieve characterization of immunologic determinants of response to cancer therapy in surgically obtained clinical specimens; identifies novel genes and examines their role in cancer progression and therapeutic response; analyzes changes in immune cell subpopulation, mRNA or protein expression, studies cell function such as migration, cytokine production, and suppression of T cell proliferation; participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; trains staff in molecular biology techniques. Autonomy in experimental work, developing skills in refining and optimizing experimental protocols, and ability to work with and train students is strongly desired.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in a Biological/ Health Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
