Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Infection Prevention Manager - UCI Health, Orange
UCI Health is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Infection Prevention Manager to oversee the daily operations of the inpatient infection prevention team at UCI Health - Orange. This is a critical leadership role that will provide direct support to the inpatient infection prevention team and serve as the on-site resource for complex challenges as they arise.
Key Responsibilities and Expected Behaviors:
- Lead and manage the inpatient infection prevention team, ensuring effective and efficient daily operations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing consultation and guidance on infection prevention practices.
- Proactively recognize challenges and communicate a plan for resolution to the leadership team.
- Mentor and support a highly skilled and collaborative team, fostering professional growth.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams by remaining highly visible in the patient care spaces to advance patient safety and infection prevention goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of infection prevention activities and regularly communicate with the leadership team.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to prioritize and balance competing initiatives.
- Seek to understand the challenges faced by the inpatient team, effectively remove barriers, and communicate priorities to the team

What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
- Strong knowledge of all relevant healthcare information technology and infection control workflows and processes.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a management or leadership role within a hospital or health care organization
- Five years experience in a healthcare or public health setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
