We are looking for someone to join our professional and friendly team to help us further the implementation of our Information Governance agenda.

About the role

This is an opportunity for a records management professional to join the University to help us implement a new information governance framework. This will underpin both best practice and our institutional culture around data quality and governance, information security and compliance, data protection, and management of records, information and data assets.

Reporting to the University Archivist and Records Manager and working closely with colleagues in a larger team of information governance professionals, you will contribute to the review and development of the University’s Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and Records Retention Schedule. Working with information owners and stewards across the University to design and implement digital records management workflows you will help embed and sustain good institutional records and information management practice.

You will also be expected to develop and introduce reporting protocols and mechanisms to support institutional records audits.

About you

You will

  • be familiar with relevant UK legislation, be suitably qualified and have experience of working across an institution to develop and implement effective information and records management processes.
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, teams and stakeholders across the University to help embed an information governance framework that underpins best practice and culture.
  • need strong planning and organisational skills, be able to build effective working relationships and be capable of working independently with positivity and professionalism under pressure.
  • have expertise in records retention and disposal protocols, and a strong practical skillset in using tools such as the O365 suite, SharePoint, Teams, Purview and Preservica to design digital records management workflows, helping reach resolutions to issues that arise.

We are keen to invest in developing your potential by providing training and professional development opportunities, including support for membership of professional bodies.
