General Summary

Responsible for conducting and reporting on evaluations and analytical studies, completes requirements for both internal and external reporting, provides support for quality improvement efforts within the college including the expanded use of effectiveness measures at all levels; supports student service operations including office support when needed; provides student records data retrieval and reporting; and other institutional research/effectiveness functions as needed. Will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Provides support and guidance for data gathering, management, and reporting to internal and external customers.
  • Provides support for and assistance in implementing improvement and effectiveness measures including existing measures used in the accreditation process for HLC's Open Pathway.
  • Provides support for and guidance on the College's programs and initiatives aimed at improving student learning, engagement, retention and achievement.
  • Cross-train in and act as back up for the College Effectiveness and Research Director position.
  • Provides assistance to institutional leadership in the tracking, retrieval, measurement, and analysis of defined processes within the college, and assist in developing and implementing measures of new or unmeasured processes.
  • In cooperation with ITS personnel, develops, implements, and sustains, institutional research database that provides ready access to student level data and other key performance indicators to facilitate a rapid response for data requests/needs.
  • When needed, provides support and advises the College President and Vice President of Innovation & Instruction on key changes to or issues regarding regional accreditation.
  • Participates on College teams as needed and provides support at functions as assigned.
  • Develops clear understanding of FERPA and Privacy Act guidelines and College policies regarding data storage, use, and distribution, and assists in maintaining compliance within the college.
