Position Summary:
The Linguistics Program is housed within the English Department and serves the department as well as several other academic units on campus. The workload for the Instructional Faculty of Linguistics will consist of 45 WLUs during the 9-month academic year distributed as follows: 44 Instructional WLUs (11 4-credit courses) + 1 Non-instructional WLU for consulting with the Linguistics Program and English Department Head and attending meetings (1 WLU). This faculty position is responsible for teaching introductory courses for a variety of audiences from English majors to prospective middle/high school Language Arts teachers to ASL majors to prospective Elementary teachers. Other courses include more advanced training for Elementary Literacy instruction as well as a 400-level course in TEFL teaching methods.

Required Qualifications: Please ensure your application materials clearly demonstrate how you meet the following:
- Doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.); preference given to candidates with training in TESOL and/or Educational Linguistics.
- 1–2 years of experience teaching linguistics courses at a four-year university; preference given to candidates with significant experience teaching first-generation students, students from traditionally underserved populations, and non-linguistics majors.
- Demonstrated ability to provide engaging and dynamic classroom instruction.
- Ability to establish positive rapport and effective relationships with students.
