Job Description
The Department of Criminal Justice at Austin Peay State University invites applications for an on-ground instructor position starting July 30, 2027. This instructor position entails approximately nine months of full-time service and is a three-year, renewable position.
The Department of Criminal Justice currently offers bachelor's and master of science degrees in criminal justice, each with an optional concentration in homeland security. Additionally, the department houses a bachelor's degree in national security studies. The program enrolls about 400 undergraduate majors per year and has approximately 60 in our graduate cohorts. The Department of Criminal Justice offers its courses through diverse delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid/blended formats. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in all modalities.
The Department of Criminal Justice is among the University's fastest growing. The position's responsibilities include teaching courses as assigned by the chair. Courses may require teaching at the Fort Campbell Center. Additionally, the successful candidate will advise students and participate in relevant service to the university, community, and discipline.
