Instructor/Lecturer in Nutrition
Pepperdine University London seeks a part-time instructor/lecturer to teach an undergraduate module in nutrition. Pepperdine University is an American university with numerous satellite campuses around the world. This position is based in our London study center in South Kensington.
Module: NUTR 210 – Contemporary Issues in Nutrition
A study of the principles of human nutrition throughout the life cycle. Current topics and controversies in nutrition and health are discussed. A personal dietary analysis is a component of this course.
NUTR 201 fulfills a laboratory science requirement for the undergraduate general education curriculum and therefore students will generally be non-Nutrition majors. Labs will be held in our kitchen on site or at relevant sites around London. The integration of local site visits and excursions which support the curriculum are welcome and encouraged.
Term Dates/Times: Spring Term: 12 January 2026–18 April 2026
3 hours of lecture + 2 hours of lab scheduled per week.
Job responsibilities: The instructor/lecturer is responsible for creating and delivering lectures and labs, selecting and marking readings, homework assignments & exams, and corresponding with students.
Qualifications:
- Required: Master’s degree in Nutrition. Preferred: PhD in Nutrition. (Note that postgraduate qualifications in related fields such as fitness, exercise physiology, kinesiology, cooking, culinary arts, health, etc. do not meet the accreditation criteria for this course and applicants without a Masters or Phd in Nutrition need not apply.)
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate prior teaching experience and effectiveness in the classroom, ideally supported by teaching evaluations.
- Experience working with American or international students is desirable.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate their legal right to work in the UK.
