A full-time Faculty position is available in the Department of Radiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This position is a two-year radiology fellowship, with a primary focus on body imaging and advanced thoracic and cardiovascular imaging. This position is assigned to work at University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) and other UC Health facilities. Hospitals support PACS and voice recognition dictation. UCMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center with an active transplant program and an IR Clinic with dedicated nursing support.
This position is responsible for the education, research and teaching activities for our students and residents. Teaching activities are conducted at UC Health facilities and based on specifically approved initiatives at other health care systems.
Essential Functions
Under the supervision of fully qualified radiologists, the candidate will perform all of the following duties:
- Interpret cardiopulmonary imaging studies, including CT, MRI, and radiography.
- Contribute to the didactic and clinical education of UC medical students and/or UCMC Radiology residents through precepting, teaching conferences, case-based learning, as well as providing lectures or leading small group discussions as part of the COM or residency curriculum.
- Act as a liaison between current residents and attending physicians at UCMC and Cincinnati Children?s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC).
- Coordinate educational duties, administrative functions and other activities of students and residents as determined by the program director and other senior faculty.
- Mentor residents as they progress through training.
- Maintain the academic curricula including academic half-day, morning report, and advanced ambulatory practice conferences among others.
- Attend and participate in departmental and divisional conferences, as relevant, including grand rounds and morbidity and mortality (M&M) conferences, as well as subspecialty imaging conferences relevant to cardiopulmonary radiology.
- Participate in hospital and medical school committees as appropriate.
- Engage in academic development, including active participation in research, scholarly publication, and presentation at regional and national meetings.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO)
- Ohio medical training certificate
- Completion of four year post-graduate radiology training.
