Candidates are expected to demonstrate their potential for quality teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels with a desired emphasis on experiential approaches. Teaching responsibilities depend on the candidate’s disciplinary expertise; all areas will be considered.

Candidates are also expected to contribute to the college, university, and communities through meaningful service activities.

Instructor candidates will direct the overall operation of the Gongaware Center, which supports insurance and risk management and financial services education in the Scott College of Business. Assistant Professor candidates, subject to qualification, may be considered for Dr. Larry Coleman/H. Peter Hudson Endowed Professorship of Insurance.

Additionally, the candidates for tenure track Assistant Professor need commitment to conduct quality research leading to publications in insurance and risk management.

Title for this position is determined by the educational level of the finalist at the time of appointment. Candidates with a master’s degree will be considered for non-tenure track Instructor. Candidates with a doctorate from AACSB accredited institution will be considered for tenure-track Assistant Professor.

Required Education and Experience:

• Assistant Professor: Doctorate in Risk Management and Insurance, or closely related field from an AACSB accredited insitution. ABD may be considered.
• Instructor: Master's degree in Risk Management and Insurance, or closely related field and 5 years of related experience (teaching and/or professional)
