Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Must meet the following:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher in any field is
required.
Must have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology
program which meets the requirements of the Commission on
Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Preferred : Associate's Degree in applied science
preferred.
Occupational Requirements:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years full-time (4,000 hours) of
work experience as an occupational Surgical Technologist. In
addition, one of the following must be met:
1. At least two (2) years of work experience must have occurred
within the last five (5) years.
OR
2. Two (2) years of teaching Surgical Technology course work at the
post-secondary level within the last five (5) years.
(One (1) year of teaching experience is equivalent two (2)
semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time - per State of
Wisconsin Legislature Administrative Code TCS3 3. 04)
Industry Certification Required:
Must hold current certification as a Certified Surgical
Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
and/or current certification as
a Certified Surgical Technologist/Certified Surgical First
Assistant (CST/CSFA) by the National Board of Surgical Technology
and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Must be able to communicate effectively through both oral and
written means.
- Must have knowledge of assessment of student academic
achievement techniques.

student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and

technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART
symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD
players and/or other classroom technology.

with on-line, two-way video, ITV, and other methods of distance
learning instruction.
Healthcare Pathway Pre-employment Requirements:
Must satisfactorily complete health screen requirements for the
Healthcare Pathway, which include a criminal background check, drug
test, and verification of immunizations.
Supplemental Information
Start Date: This position supports the Healthcare Pathway
and is available to start in the fall semester.
Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an
"applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not
guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on
course availability and department needs each semester. All work
must be performed in the state of Wisconsin. We are seeking
candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any
combination of the following:
- Instructional Modality: In-person
- Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend
classes
Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty
is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also
compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of
instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent
to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is
non-negotiable.

Interview: As part of the interview process, selected
candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive
theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10
minutes of the overall interview time, which may be conducted
