In this 9-month per year teaching position, the successful applicant will have opportunities to create, manage and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. Responsibilities:
- Classroom and clinical instruction are the primary responsibilities.
- Develop and utilize a simulation, skills and laboratory environment to enhance student learning.
- Plan, develop and present organized learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course syllabi.
- Assure effective and open communication at all levels of responsibility.
- Provide out-of-class communication opportunities with students.
- Participate in department, division, and college meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in program advisory committees.
- Represent the university to external clinical sites and constituencies as appropriate.
- Maintain competency and currency in the subject matter of courses taught and in pedagogy.
- Assume responsibility for the orderliness of the learning environment and the appropriate and safe use of instructional facilities and equipment.
- Offer office hours and be available to students outside of scheduled lecture and labs
Qualifications:
- A master's degree in nursing is required; earned doctorate or near completion will be given preference
- License to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska is required
- Areas of practice expertise and/or teaching experience to include Pathophysiology, Pharmacology and/or Mental Health clinical instruction
- Demonstrated commitment to student academic achievement
- Demonstrated critical thinking and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
