Provides advanced advising for complex academic plans (double majors, transfer credits), as well as students in academic distress or special populations. 2. Designs and implements student success programs and retention strategies. 3. Trains and mentors Academic Advisor 1 & 2 staff. 4. Interprets and applies university policies with discretion. 5. Analyzes advising data and recommends improvements. 6. Serves as liaison between academic departments and advising center. 7. Performs other job-related duties as required. Additional Duties: Responsible for the day-to-day advising in Undergraduate Student Success, to include academic advising, planning and implementing New Student Orientation, and other related duties. The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following: • Experience in a University setting, preferably in an academic advising office. • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, problem solve, exercise excellent judgment, demonstrate critical thinking skills, and adapt to shifting priorities in a diverse setting. • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with experience working effectively with both internal staff and external partners. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines. • Ability to organize and monitor multiple initiatives concurrently. • Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies and procedures. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Campus Solutions, and EAB Navigate.
