About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced International Development Coordinator to support the business development and engagement team in the management of tendering, securing of projects and business development. This includes developing and maintaining institutional knowledge, liaison with clients and funders and directly supporting the manager and senior manager (International Development (Business Development & Engagement). The role will work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders within UQ as well as external stakeholders and partners to strengthen UQ’s position as a leading provider of development and project delivery services.
Key responsibilities will include:
Impactful Tender Coordination
- Support the end to end management of high value international development proposals to successfully secure global projects.
Financial & Analytical Focus
- Coordinate competitive financial costing and pricing models to drive business growth and optimise commercial returns for UQ.
Systems & Process Optimisation
- Maintain and enhance critical data systems (including Smartsheet) to streamline workflow efficiency and track pipeline opportunities.
Cross-Cultural Diplomacy
- Work collaboratively across diverse, multicultural teams and build strong partnerships with internal UQ stakeholders and external funding clients.
About You
Essential
- Undergraduate degree and at least three (3) years’ experience in business development within international development, adult education, or related sectors (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Knowledge of development practice, business opportunity monitoring and evaluation and experience in business development and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience designing systems for tender preparation and business capture, alongside proven capability in preparing project costing, pricing models, and managing proposal compliance.
- High level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with a proven track record of writing successful, competitive tender submissions and complex project reports.
- Ability to work with diplomacy and tact across diverse, multicultural team environments, supported by proficiency in MS 365 (especially Excel) and pipeline tracking software.
Desirable
- Experience writing tenders for DFAT-funded opportunities will be highly regarded.
