IRP Outpatient RN - Endoscopy
Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centers mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patients involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.
Position Summary: The Outpatient Surgery Center Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Outpatient Surgery Center Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) at the Powell Outpatient Care Point (OCP) provides comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the endoscopic procedural experience, supporting a diverse patient population undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy. This location features five endoscopy procedure rooms designed to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
The RN is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases. This includes collaboration with physicians and the procedural team, recovery care, patient education, and discharge preparation. The RN will work with physicians, anesthesia partners, and support staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes and a seamless procedural experience.
This is a first-shift position with a 36-hour workweek, scheduled as four 9-hour shifts. The role requires flexibility, critical thinking, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care within an ambulatory endoscopy setting.
