Primary Purpose of the Position:
This position, reporting to Application Administration Services (AAS) within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), is responsible for providing enterprise application support, end-user training, and promoting technology awareness across the campus community. The IT Applications Professional, Programmer Analyst supports university personnel and students in effectively using digital tools and systems integral to their academic and administrative work.
Key responsibilities include administering a variety of enterprise applications and coordinating with Client Technology Services to deliver Level III support for user-based software. Areas of training and support include, but are not limited to, Microsoft 365, learning management systems (LMS), content and residential management systems (CMS/RMS), SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, 25Live Pro, and campus portal applications.
To help users maximize the functionality and benefits of these tools, the position delivers a comprehensive awareness platform through onsite training sessions, detailed documentation, technical workshops, and other learning formats. These efforts aim to enhance user proficiency, streamline workflows, and increase overall productivity.
Additionally, this role leads OIT's communication strategies, including email campaigns, newsletters, departmental websites, intranet content, and social media engagement. This role ensures that all external and internal communications reflect the mission and values of OIT, fostering a consistent and positive image of the organization.
Preferred Years Experience,Skills, Training , Education:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting end-user adoption through documentation, live training, and user engagement strategies
- Experience developing functional specifications, training materials, or technical documentation
- Familiarity with software integration practices, including the use or development of APIs
- Hands-on experience supporting learning management systems (LMS), content management systems (CMS), or enterprise scheduling tools such as 25Live
- Demonstrated ability to deliver user training through multiple formats-such as virtual sessions, onsite workshops, and self-paced materials
- Experience contributing to or managing technology-related communication efforts, including newsletters, social media, and intranet content
