IT Operator (PR0280/21-22)
Reporting to the Manager (System Operation) of Information Technology, the appointee will provide the first line support in ensuring quality IT services are provided to the University community to support teaching and learning as well as business operation.
Responsibilities:
- Support the operation in the data centers and hub rooms on campus;
- Execute routine IT tasks, monitor system and network status, install/configure network switches and UPS, install network cables;
- Work closely with other IT teams in ensuring the stability and efficiency of IT services;
- Handle users’ enquiries; and
- Shift duty is required.
Requirements:
A diploma or degree in computer science or related discipline;
- Minimum 1 year or above of relevant work experience;
- Experience in supporting the facilities of data center, Windows/Linux, IP network;
- Knowledge of shell script programming will be an advantage; and
- Good communication and problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
