We are seeking an experienced professional to help drive our commitment to gender equality, respect, and the prevention of gender-based violence across our University community, in the position of JCU Respect Program Officer. This role sits within the Office of the Chief of Staff and plays a central part in shaping institution-wide initiatives that foster a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for students and staff.

  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
  • HEWL 8: $111,960 to $128,567 plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
  • Relocation assistance may be offered for the preferred candidate.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The JCU Respect Program Officer will provide expert advice, lead capability-building activities, and support compliance with key national frameworks, including the National Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence and Workplace Gender Equality Agency requirements. The role leads collaborative engagement across the University, works closely with specialist partners, and contributes to strategic education, prevention and response activities.

We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience in gender equality or violence-prevention work, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to deliver evidence-based programs in sensitive and complex areas. ABOUT THE CHIEF OF STAFF OFFICE

The Chief of Staff Office provides support to the Vice Chancellor and the Executive Group on governance and management issues. As the Vice Chancellor’s principal aide, the Chief of Staff is responsible for the University’s corporate and strategic governance and assurance frameworks and coordinating a broad range of cross portfolio strategic initiatives.
