Junior Clinical Veterinarian in First Opinion Equine Practice

We are looking to recruit a graduate who is enthusiastic about progressing and developing their skills as part of our friendly, experienced equine ambulatory team. This role will give you the opportunity to work as a veterinary surgeon in first opinion practice with full backup and support from experienced colleagues, including an RCVS Advanced Practitioner. Bringing your cases into the well-equipped clinic for further workup with the support of the experienced team and our excellent facilities is encouraged. The Equine team includes qualified RVNs and experienced technicians who are available for support on the road where required, a Principal Clinical Veterinarian and two equine veterinary clinicians.

Candidates must have completed a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

An interest in and experience of teaching is essential as you will be involved in teaching of clinical students alongside your clinical work. Practical teaching sessions and other teaching opportunities are available for the right candidate. It will also be possible to be involved in relevant clinical research, but this is not essential. There are opportunities for further training in areas of interest, such as teaching qualifications or working towards a certificate or advanced practitioner status. Case discussion is encouraged, and there is the opportunity to participate in journal clubs if you wish to.

Shared practice vehicles are provided for work use; you will need a clean driving licence and be willing to undertake a driver assessment if successful.

This full-time position will involve participation in the out-of-hours rota, for which extra remuneration is provided.
