Junior Lecturer Artificial Intelligence (MSc AI)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Lecturer to support the Master of Artificial Intelligence program at the University of Amsterdam. This role involves contributing to high-quality education in artificial intelligence, supporting courses, and assisting in various teaching activities.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and adapting course material for project groups and computer lab sessions
- Coaching and instructing teaching assistants (TAs)
- Supervising project groups
- Grading and/or providing feedback on weekly assignments
- Giving lectures (dependent on qualifications)
- Supporting the Master thesis process, including organization and supervision
- Organizing extracurricular activities (if applicable)
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Master of Science degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, information science, or a related discipline
- Teaching experience and course administration experience
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pro-active and flexible attitude
- Ability to accept collegiate responsibilities
- Good communication skills
- An excellent command of English (C1 level)
- Non-native Dutch speakers must be willing to obtain B2 level proficiency in Dutch
What the Employer Offers
A temporary contract of 4 years for 38 hours per week, with a salary range of €3,546 to €5,538 gross per month based on full-time employment. Benefits include 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, possible '30% ruling' for non-Dutch applicants, and participation in the Lecturer Development Program for training and development.
