Offer Description
The BIOPOLIS Association opens an international selection call for the recruitment of a Junior Researcher to carry out scientific research activities, under a full-time fixed-term employment contract associated with the execution of the project, with an expected duration of 3 months, corresponding to the period necessary for the execution of the project activities. The call is intended to fill one (1) position within the scope of the project “ISLANDBIRDIET: Dietary niche divergence of island birds and the evolution of morphological adaptations”, funded by FCT, under reference 2023.12030.PEX.

Skills/Qualifications
National, foreign, and stateless candidates who hold a PhD degree in biology, or related areas, and who have a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile suited to the activity to be developed, may apply for this call. If the PhD degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the date of signature of the employment contract
Specific Requirements
Specific Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including scientific dissemination and presentations.
- Solid experience in research project planning, coordination, and monitoring.
- Solid publication record and experience preparing scientific publications and reports.
Preferred Requirements: In addition to the general and specific requirements defined in the previous point, the following are preferred requirements:
- Experience in scientific data management, statistical analysis, and programming, particularly in R.
- Research experience in evolution, behavior, ecology, and/or ornithology.
- Experience in student supervision, team coordination, and grant writing.
