Skills/Qualifications
General Requirements: National, foreign, and stateless citizens who hold a doctoral degree in biology, or a related scientific area, and possess a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile suited to the activity to be developed may apply to the tender. If the doctorate was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the date of signing the employment contract.
Specific Requirements: In addition to the general requirements defined in the previous point, the specific requirements are:
- Experience in research activities in the area of the impacts of anthropogenic infrastructures on biodiversity, particularly in the area of interactions between power lines and avifauna;
- Experience in scientific publication, preparation of technical-scientific opinions, and writing of technical reports in the area referred to in the previous point;
- Knowledge of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) procedures and practices in Portugal, ideally in energy transmission infrastructure projects, namely their implications on Ecology and Biodiversity components (e.g., monitoring plans; mitigation measures, evaluation of their effectiveness, etc.);
- Data analysis skills (in R language or others);
- Good teamwork skills and experience in coordinating with different entities, namely energy infrastructure developers, environmental authorities (e.g., APA, ICNF), NGOs, and other stakeholders;
- Driver's license and availability to travel in Portugal and abroad;
- Excellent command, both spoken and written, of the Portuguese and English languages.
